AMA-GROUP Network: Automotive and Electricity since 1976
Founded in 1976 by Alfred and Irmhild Maschka as Maschka GmbH and Ingenieurbüro near Pforzheim, Germany. Both companies focused early up on shop floor automation, intelligent communication concepts and smart products. The first supplier was Syrelec in France, today part of Schneider Electric. The breakthrough came in the 1980’s with General Electric’s PLCs (programmable logic controllers) to automate entire machine lines and with SISCO to monitor and supervise them from a control centre. In 1988 the companies were renamed to AMA-SYSTEMS GmbH and AMA-AUTOMATION GmbH.
In the 1990’s contracts have been realized to automate Daimler’s body shop, engine and transmission production as well as to manage the automobile traffic in Stuttgart. In the 2000’s AMA-SYSTEMS diversified with SISCO into monitoring of electric grids and implemented licenses according to IEC 61850 for major utility companies like EnBW, Enel, and EDF.
In 2010 Axel Joachim Maschka founded AMA-ADVISORS – focusing on international business development for Tier 1 suppliers and Truck OEMs like Navistar across Europe.
After executive board assignments in the international automotive industry in Sweden, Belgium and France, AMA-ADVISORS was relaunched as part of AMA-GROUP SAS in Paris in 2019 – expanding on the new focus areas Electric Mobility and Business Transformation – while maintaining its traditional focus on international business development.
